Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
The Business Analyst reports to the location Business Intelligence Manager with direct responsibilities focused on strategic business analysis, new process development, and driving technological advancements for various departments in support of our corporate goals and objectives. This will include the cataloguing and documentation of current business processes and sub-processes to discover inefficiencies. The Business Analyst will also be required to liaise with internal leaders to evaluate and re-engineer processes and sub-processes as necessary for the purpose of determining and meeting the company’s technology plans. As such, this individual will act as the main liaison between the IT department and the company’s business units.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
– Creating detailed business case analyses by breaking down problems, identifying inefficiencies, engineering solutions, and implementing strategies to help the company reach its technology objectives
– Perform data analyses as requested; develop and present ad hoc reports in support of various business process initiatives both internally and externally.
– Collaborate with project managers, system owners, and end users to further refine business operations requirements and goals.
– Research and review processes that support business functions and system requirements.
– Create and/or prototype new procedures to enhance business processes, operations, and data flow.
– Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and develop strategies for enhancing them.
– Manage, coordinate, and evaluate the efforts of third-party consultants engaged in contracted business process activities.
– Support and lead relationships with the company’s technology partners, act as the main conduit between the business and its 3rd party technology vendors helping to steer the company in the right direction with its technology initiatives.
Essential Functions (Essential/secondary functions that support the primary responsibilities)
– Provide consultative and technical support to the executive team and other strategic decision-making groups.
– Design, develop, and distribute procedures and training for new process launches in both technical and user-oriented language.
– Manage and coordinate research and/or survey databases, as applicable.
– Conduct system requirements and regression testing.
– Assist internal stakeholders in defining business requirements to support future process analysis, development, and investment.
– Flowchart business processes to define operational activities, procedures, and models.
– Identify omissions and errors in business requirements by conducting feasibility studies.
– Prepare technical reports for use by IT staff personnel in support of technical services activities.
– Manage and support the company’s databases and server requirements with a 3rd party vendor.

Educational/Training Requirements/Experience_ (What your background should look like)_
– Bachelor’s Degree, certification, or diploma in appropriate field of study (computer science, finance, or business administration) or equivalent work experience
– 1-2 years’ direct work experience as a business analyst
– Demonstrated experience analyzing and modeling business, technical, and process requirements
– Understanding of common tools and systems such as RDBMS, Power BI, DAX, VBA, RegEx, API’s, Webservices, M365, Google Analytics, and Azure Data Factory
– Advanced MS Excel skills
– Proven experience with RDBMS, Power BI, DAX, VBA, RegEx, API’s and Webservices considered an asset
– Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing re-engineered business processes and associated software and hardware
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
– Strong written and oral communication skills
– Strong time management, qualification and negotiation skills
