A Machine Operator’s duties and responsibilities dictate the safety and efficiency of everyone around them. Machine Operators must remain focused and diligent in performing their tasks correctly and with care to keep everything running smoothly. Their duties and responsibilities may include:
Job Duties:
• Read and understand blueprint designs.
• Set up machinery for production.
• Rework metal to create the blueprint design.
• Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Complete routine maintenance of their machinery.
• Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC.
• Setting up manufacturing equipment for daily use.
• Maintaining equipment and machinery so they can operate safely.
• Maintaining the understanding of operating procedures for their machines.
• Proposing improvements to the process or machines as needed.
• Reporting safety hazards within the work environment.
Skills Required:
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of machine operation or manufacturing processes.
• Ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Creative, innovative, and positive approach to working.
• Understands the needs of the business and goes beyond the call of duty.
• Excellent time management, organization and planning skills.
• Thrives in a positive team environment and easily adapts to new things.
• Communicates with co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
• Confident in problem solving and providing solutions when issues arise.

Experience Required:
• Experience with Aluminum, MIG and TIG welding is a plus.
• CNC Operator, Brake Press, Shear, Saw and Lathe experience would be an asset.
• Additional training will be provided.
Education Required:
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Wage & Hours: $26.00 per hour
• Number of hours per day: 8-9
• Number of days per week: 5
• Number of hours per week: 44
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 44 hours
