Job Duties:
Kiln Operator will be working at Sawmill Department.
• Operate and tend kilns.
• Start up, shut down, set up, adjust and assist in maintaining processing equipment and machines as required.
• Load and unload kilns.
• Remove stacks from crane area.
• Perform moisture checks (hot checks).
• Arrange dry lumber coming from kilns and sort according to planer production.
• Make sure there is enough dry lumber for the planer on a continuous basis and make proper arrangements for a line change.
• Ensure equipment is operational and report problems to appropriate personnel.
• Change frayed cables as needed and make sure hooks are in good working condition.
• Record information in log book daily.

Experience Required:
• Previous experience at sawmill is an asset
Education Required:
• Secondary school certificate
Wage & Hours: $ 33.59
• Number of hours per day: 12
• Number of days per week: 7 shifts on/ 7 shifts off
• Number of hours per week: 84 biweekly
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
• Shift rotation (as applicable): 12 hour shift, days/nights rotation
