Work Setting

The caregiver will work in a private household in Whitby, Ontario, providing care and supervision for children in a safe, nurturing, and family-oriented environment. This is an on-site position. Remote work is not available.

Job Duties

•             Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home.

•             Change diapers and assist with toilet training as required.

•             Sterilize bottles and prepare infant formulas.

•             Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children.

•             Feed, bathe, dress, and ensure the general well-being of children.

•             Organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, including games and outings.

•             Maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment for the children.

•             Assist children with personal hygiene and social development.

•             Prepare children for rest periods and maintain daily routines.

•             Keep records of children’s daily activities, health information, and behavioural observations.

•             Provide emotional support and attentive care to children.

•             Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children.

•             Assume full responsibility for the care and supervision of the children in the parents’ absence.

•             Travel with the family when required and assist with child supervision and related duties.

•             Follow parental instructions regarding discipline, routines, and child care practices.

Qualifications

•             Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

•             Minimum one (1) year to less than two (2) years of relevant child care experience.

•             Valid CPR Certificate.

•             Valid First Aid Certificate.

•             Criminal record check required.

•             References required.

Employment Conditions

•             Permanent full-time position.

•             Work schedule may include day, early morning, weekend and flexible hours, as required by the family’s childcare needs. The position consists of 30 hours per week.

•             Work must be completed at the employer’s home in Whitby, Ontario. There is no option to work remotely.

•             All employment conditions will comply with applicable Ontario employment standards legislation.
