Labourer & Delivery Driver Full Time NEW

Position Title: Delivery Driver

Location: Saanichton, BC, V8M 1Z7

Rate of Pay: $21.00 – 25.80/hour

Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Daily vehicle inspection: including verifying warning lights, fluids and pressures are all in working order.
• Performing product delivery to customers in a courteous and well-presented manner.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Collecting payments as advised.
• Assisting warehouse staff in keeping warehouse, freezer and cooler areas tidy and organized.
• Picking and assembling orders when required.
• Handling and organization of pallets and cases.
• Clean up and disposal of all garbage and debris in the truck cab and cargo area.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior, exterior and cargo area. Including washing and vacuuming on a bi-weekly basis or as required.
• Operating forklift, pallet jack and trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
• Previous work experience will be considered an asset.
• Truck driving (5 ton) experience.
• Training will be provided.
• Familiarity with local routes will be considered an asset.
• Willingness to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing 30+ lbs. safely and effectively.
• Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements, and manual labor.
• Previous work experience is an asset but not required.
• Training will be provided.
• Commitment to safety standards and practices.
