Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: hourly wage of $21, work 35 hours per week,52 weeks a year

Annual: $38,220

Job duties：

-Load, unload and transport construction materials, tools and equipment to designated work areas at residential and commercial construction sites.

-Prepare construction sites by clearing work areas, removing debris and waste materials, and organizing tools and building materials for renovation, remodeling and new construction projects.

-Assist carpenters and other skilled tradespersons with the construction, renovation and installation of interior structures, decks, fences, walls and other building components.

-Assist with measuring, cutting, positioning and handling lumber, drywall, insulation and other construction materials under the direction of skilled tradespersons.

-Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding, ramps, barricades and basic concrete forms as required for construction and renovation work.

-Mix, pour, spread and move construction materials such as concrete, cement and gravel, and assist with basic foundation, walkway and exterior construction work.

-Perform basic demolition work during renovation projects using hand and power tools, and sort, remove and dispose of demolished materials and construction debris.

-Level and prepare ground and work surfaces using shovels, rakes and other hand tools for exterior construction, deck, fence and landscaping-related projects.

-Operate and maintain basic construction tools and equipment, such as drills, saws, compactors, mixers and other hand or power tools, as directed by supervisors or skilled tradespersons.

-Maintain clean and safe construction sites by following workplace safety procedures, properly storing materials and equipment, and performing other construction-related labouring duties as assigned.

Recruiting Requirements

Education:

-No degree, certificate or diploma required.

Experience:

-Previous experience in construction, renovation or general labour is an asset.

-On-the-job training will be provided.

Skills:

-Can perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing and working for extended periods.

-Ability to work in confined spaces and demonstrate safety awareness at different construction sites.

-Willingness to travel to various construction sites within the local area as required.

-Can lift and handle construction materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

-Can work in outdoor weather and unregulated temperatures for 6-8 hours/day.

-Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a construction team.

-Ability to follow instructions and workplace health and safety procedures.

-Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolding, where required.

-Ability to work in fast-paced construction environment.

-Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.

-Willingness to perform repetitive physical work.

-Knowledge in carpentry would be an asset.
