Responsibilities

Tasks Include:

• Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items

• Estimate labour costs

• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory

• Analyze operating costs and other data

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff

• Supervise chefs, cooks, and kitchen workers

• Create new recipes and menus

• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation

• Cook complete meals and specialty foods for events and functions

• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards

• Prepare meals for customers with allergies or intolerances

• Recruit, hire, and train staff

• Requisition kitchen supplies and arrange equipment purchases/repairs

• Consult with clients for weddings, banquets, and special functions

• Lead staff, ensuring food safety/handling compliance

• Develop communication strategies

Supervision:

• 11–15 people
