Home Support Worker – Full-Time Opportunity for Youth Full Time

Rida Shenouda is seeking a caring, reliable and responsible Home Support Worker to provide personal care and daily living assistance to an elderly individual in a private household in Markham, Ontario.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering 30 hours of work per week. The successful applicant must be compassionate, patient, dependable and comfortable providing one-on-one support to an elderly client.

Job duties
Provide bedside and personal care;
assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and other aspects of personal hygiene;
provide mobility assistance and help maintain a safe home environment;
assist with medications as directed;
prepare and serve nutritious meals;
provide companionship and emotional support;
monitor the client’s general well-being;
perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the client’s care;
launder clothing and household linens;
accompany or assist the client with medical appointments and community activities when required; and
perform other related home-support duties.
Employment requirements
Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience;
one year to less than two years of related caregiving or home-support experience;
ability to communicate in English;
experience providing care to elderly individuals is preferred;
dependable, patient, compassionate and trustworthy;
able to work independently in a private household;
able to perform personal-care and light-housekeeping duties; and
available to work early mornings, mornings, days, evenings and weekends according to the employer’s schedule.
Employment conditions
Permanent, full-time employment;
30 hours per week;
$21.00 per hour;
work must be completed on-site in the employer’s home;
start date: as soon as possible;
one vacancy; and
overtime will be paid in accordance with Ontario employment standards.
